Description

A classic American side dish made with green beans, creamy mushroom sauce, and crispy fried onions. Perfect for holiday dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh green beans (trimmed and cut)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz )
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soy sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 cups crispy fried onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the green beans for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, salt, and soy sauce (if using).
  4. Add the cooked green beans to the mixture and stir well to coat.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle half of the crispy fried onions on top.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove from the oven.
  8. Add the remaining fried onions and shredded cheddar cheese (if using).
  9. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

📌For a fresher taste, use homemade mushroom sauce instead of canned soup.

📌Frozen green beans can be used instead of fresh ones; just thaw and drain before cooking.

📌Add cooked bacon bits for extra flavor.
