Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in buttermilk and mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped apple pie filling, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  6. Lightly flour a surface and roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness.
